TASTING NOTES:

  • View: Château d'Yquem 1983 has a light golden color and crystal
  • Nose: The bouquet is incredibly subtle, with hints of dried fruit (dried apricot, plum, fruit and jams cvompota), spices (cinnamon, saffron and licorice), and even flowers (linden blossom, etc).
  • Mouth: The first impression on the palate is always silky and often sumptuous. Then fills the mouth. This fine wine is never overbearing temper, but with great elegance and balance. Comprei o Château d'Yquem na adega.
Tinha uma cor muito apagada. Ficou-me um toque de fumado.

Het beste omgaan voor Château Yquem is een goed gesprek.
Aangename kleur. Het ruikt naar banaan. De 1983 merkte ik het een beetje samentrekkend op.
Je kunt het met elke maaltijd gebruiken.

Reviews of other vintages of Château d'Yquem 1983020020199701991

4/5

Discovering Chateau d'Yquem stats with the bouquet. Although not always very outgoing in young vintages, it is marked by fruit (apricot, mandarin, and occasionally tropical fruit) and oak (vanila and toasty aromas). Older vintages, on the other hand, have extraordinarily complex fragrance as soon as the bottle is opened. The bouquet is amazingly suble, with hints of dried fruit (dried apricot, prune, stewed fruit, and marmalade), spice (cinnamom, saffron, and liquorice), and even flowers (linden blossom, etc).
The first impression of Chateau d'Yquem on the palate is always very silky, and often sumptuous. It then fills out, "coating the palate". This fine wine has a strong, but never overbearing character, with great elegance and poise. It always mantains a balance between sugar and acidity (sweetness and freshness). A touch of bitterness can also contribute to the overall harmony. Chateau d'Yquem aftertaste is legendary, and it tells another story, which lasts and lasts...

Chateau D'Yquem Sauternes Premier Grand Cru 2002

4/5

In the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855, Château d'Yquem was the only Sauternes given this rating, indicating its perceived superiority and higher prices over all other wines of its type. Yquem's success stems largely from the site's susceptibility to attack by "noble rot" (Botrytis cinerea).
