Carmes de Rieussec Sauternes 375ml 2017 (Muscadelle and Sémillon)
- View: bright, straw yellow, clean, green hues.
- Nose: exotic fruits, varietal notes, fresh, expressive and fruity aromas.
- Mouth: spicy, long, velvety, honey, frank and lively balsamic notes.
VINES: vineyard Château Rieussec extends on the boundary between Fargues and Sauternes, adjacent to the Château dYquem. Grava alternating with sedimentary deposits.
GRAPES: Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.
AGEING: 18 months in French oak barrels.
PREPARATION: The harvest is carried out in several successive batches. Its duration is 6 to 8 weeks between September and November. Fermentations take place in barrels.
RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 5-7ºC
IN THE 18TH CENTURY, the Rieussec estate belonged to the Carmes de Langon monks. The confiscation of the estate during the revolution led to its public sale around 1790 as an "object of national heritage" to Mr. Marheilhac, the period's owner of Château La Louvière at Léognan.More about the Winery
