Perhaps the "most exciting" of all Sauternes wineries. Château Rieussec is located in the district of Fargues as immediate, eastern neighbor of Château d'Yquem. It went through in the last 200 all the ups and downs of a winery in this region and was regularly passed at short intervals. With the acquisition of the estate by M. Albert Vuillier 1971 the quality improved dramatically. Unfortunately, he had it in 1984 for lack of funds resell. Thanks to the new owners, a group of investors - under the direction of Domaines Baron de Rothschild (Lafite), is Château Rieussec has established itself as a super-Second Sauternes. The philosophy on Rieussec asks in particularly good years a "Creme de Tete" to create, produce in bad years no Château Rieussec. In addition, a second wine under the name "Carmes de Rieussec" is produced from young vines, as well as a dry white wine called "R" from the readout not botritisierter berries.
