The "pumo" is one of Puglia's most famous lucky charms. The accessory - a statue whose shape resembles that of a pinecone, but is actually inspired by acanthus leaves - is displayed as a decoration for buildings, gardens and balconies. When given as a gift, the pumo is a good omen, especially if you have to start a new project.
The clay with which these objects are made is the same clay from which the vines grow, and which gives the Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera di Brindisi grapes their peculiar characteristics. The Pumo Salice Salentino 2017 by San Marzano is an intense wine, with hints of cherry, plum, spices and Mediterranean herbs. Although it has a robust body, it is particularly fresh.
It should be noted that the 2017 vintage has entered the Annuario dei Migliori Vini Italiani 2021 by Luca Maroni with a score of 94 points.

San Marzano is a leading wine producer from the region of Puglia, in the heel of Italy’s boot. The story began in 1962, when 19 vine growers from the village of San Marzano, whose families had farmed the land for generations, came together to follow their dream and founded Cantine San Marzano. Throughout the decades it has grown significantly and now attracts over 1,200 top-quality vine growers.More about the Winery
