You will like to know that…
The soft, clayey soils of San Marzano, Puglia, give the autochthonous variety Primitivo the perfect conditions for ripening. The good humidity of the clay soil, combined with the natural aeration of the roots through the pebbles and rocks, organically regulate the water balance. This is the secret to making an exceptional wine, just like Il Pumo Primitivo 2018 from Cantine San Marzano.
Pumo Primitivo offers a complex bouquet on the nose, with notes of plum, cherry, spices, rosemary and vanilla. It is a wine endowed with body, softness and harmony, capable of giving a little of the warmth of its land!
A small curiosity: Il Pumo pays homage to a traditional Apulian decoration, shaped like a pine cone, that decorates the terraces and balconies of Salento and wishes good luck to passers-by. This object is made of the same clay that nourishes the vines.
