The vineyards of Saint-Julien is a harmonious synthesis between Margaux (fineness) and Pauillac (power). It is therefore not surprising to find 11 crus, 5 seconds.

Chateau Branaire Ducru has a long history that goes all the way back to 1680. In those early days in Saint Julien, Branaire Ducru was a part of the massive Beychevelle estate. When the owner of Beychevelle passed away, he left behind a huge Bordeaux vineyard that was seriously in debt. To pay the bills, the vineyard was broken up and sold to pay their debts. Several new estates were created in St. Julien including Chateau Branaire Ducru.

4/5

BRANAIRE CHÂTEAU DUCRU 2013 is a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot 31%, 5% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc.
This 2013 vintage is elegant and seductive. I has a nice aromatic definition of fine fruit and accurate. The palate is balanced, on a pretty tasty flesh with delicate tannins. Good acidity and a nice freshness.

I bought some bottles of this Château Branaire Ducru 2015 at Uvinum.
Bright cherry colour, high layer. Scents of raspberry. Oily, unctuous.

This wine is a typical supermarket wine.
Has a strong colour. Strong scents of coffee and toffee. Sweet taste, fruity.
