Situated at the boarder of Pomerol, the territory was named after a Caribbean island where its landlord lived a great success story. With its nearby neighbours Château Cheval Blanc and L’Évangile, as well as a bit further away the Château La Conseillante, Figeac and Petrus. Its territory is spread over 23 hectares: 25% pebble stone and 75% ancient sands under a thin cover of blue clay.

Landlord since 1969 of Château La Dominique, Clement Fayat, is the head of the first French family business that is independent from the public construction service and trusts the architect Jean Nouvel with all future installation projects on the territory.
The aim is to provide the Château with a winemaking and reception tool at the top of this grand soil of Saint-Emilion. The washtub capacity will also be enlarged and the technical equipment will correspond to latest standards.
With the 2011, La Dominique creates a wine with a profound robe and an expressive nose with scents of black berries. In the mouth, this wine is rich and complex and the fresh black fruits express their generosity. Its finish is harmonious and succulent. There is a perfect balance between well constituted tannins and a fine acidity. For Bettane and Desseauve this wine is an "undeniable success".Drink or keep: 2015 - 2026Delicious with: Game

It smells toasty. The grape had an evident presence.
I have found it rather fine.

A good Château La Dominique who goes well with beef stew. Me and my clients from Saint-Emilion have taste it together.
Red ruby colour with reddish brown tinges. This red wine has a chestnut background. It was light but tastes like blackberries.
