You will like to know that...

Ron Negrita is one of the most popular dark rums in Europe. Owned and distributed by the French company, La Martiniquaise, this classic rum first came to be in 1857. It was the brainchild of Paul Bardinet, who became interested in rums when these sugarcane-based spirits began to appear in Europe from the islands. He took it upon himself to craft his own rum, the results of which can still be tasted today.

The unique flavour that sugarcane gives to the spirits which use it as a base is unmistakable. Ron Negrita takes advantage of the fine sugarcane that the Caribbean has to offer by gathering its rum from various islands in the area. These are blended, aged, and bottled under the iconic Ron Negrita name and logo.

You can now find Ron Negrita in more than 100 countries worldwide. This dark rum has made a space for itself in both the world of cocktails and the world of desserts. Accessible and easy to use, this rum will add that special dark rum touch to your next crepe, cocktail, or whatever else you see fit to use it for. Exceptionally soft and smooth, Ron Negrita is sure to bring the flavour of the Caribbean to your home.

Ron Negrita 1L

Ron Negrita born from the best selection of sugar canes. The story begins in 1857. A young liquor maker of Limoges, Paul Bardinet, takes interest in alcohol cane sugar imported from distant islands to arrive to ports of the old world. The ratafia as they called in those days did not have great value for privateers but under its apparent harshness hiding big secrets. By then Paul Bardinet appreciate the latent and incomparable flavors and aromas that until today gives us sugar cane to yield exquisite rums.
Having become an expert trader distiller, Paul Bardinet build a flagship brand Negrita who traveled around the world to this day. Today, bold rum is one of the most purchased.
Ron Negrita reminiscent of other Caribbean rums and apart from the combination with other beverages such as juices or soft drinks, rum is used in baking to produce different desserts. It is also used to make certain infusions such as tea, pennyroyal or mint and coffee. With the latter the carajillos preparations are made.

View: In view bright amber occurs.
Nose: The nose is a very strong scent in their distillation and somewhat sweet.
Palate: The palate is presented with a very pleasant flavor with hint of raisins and a sweet finish.
Ron Negrita Alcohol content: 37, 5 degrees

This is the rum of my childhood, my mum used to out it in her waffle and crêpes batter as well as other lovely foods.
It is nothing special to drink, i wouldn't have it neat, you can mix it or, more appropriately, cook with it. At £10/L what more can you ask for ?
A satisfying buy that brings me back to my first rum-induced pleasures.
