Description of Plantation Rum Pineapple

Plantation Rum Pineapple

TASTING NOTES:

  • Colour: A golden amber brown.
  • Aroma: A rich and alluring bouquet with tropical fruit scents of ripe pineapple, banana, and citrus zest and overtones of winter warming spices.
  • Taste: Structured and pleasantly balanced on the palate with a layered flavour of tropical fruits, especially pineapple, and clove spice. The finish is long and smoky.

PRODUCER: Plantation Rum. The brand began in 1989 when Alexander Gabriel took over Maison Ferrand, an established producer whose sales had been lagging. With Gabriel's passion business expertise, Plantation Rum soon became an award-winning leader of the Caribbean rum industry.

COUNTRY: France.

PRODUCTION DETAILS: Like all Plantation Rums, Plantation Rum Pineapple is made from a careful selection of rums made of the Caribbean molasses. The rums from Barbados and Trinidad were fermented for 72 hours, while the rum from Jamaica was fermented for 2 weeks. Plantation Rum Pineapple is carefully created using both the bark and fruit of the finest Victoria pineapples. The fruit is infused in Plantation Original Dark rum, while the bark is infused with Plantation 3 Stars Rum and then further distilled in copper pot stills. Then the fruit infusion and the distillate were blended together for a harmonious and subtle pineapple-flavoured finished product. Plantation Rum Pineapple was named after a Charles Dickens character from the Pickwick Papers, Reverend Stiggins, whose favourite drink was "pineapple rum."
