Alexandre Gabriel, Master Blender of Plantation rums, is a great connoisseur of the Caribbean and the rums produced there.Plantation Rum 20th Anniversary XO was created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Maison Ferrand, the winery located at the Château de Bonbonnet and owner of Plantation. To produce this special edition, the best rums from the Caribbean have been selected and have undergone a double ageing process: the first on the island of Barbados, the second in France in barrels used for ageing cognac.
Plantation Rum 20th Anniversary XO is a complex rum, capable of combining French elegance with the lively flavours typical of Caribbean distillates. Banana and coconut aromas are blended with spicy notes of tobacco and cream to create a rum that won the gold medal at the Rum Miami Renaissance Festival's RumXP international competition.

More about the Producer
My experience was divided into three phases: the first smell, you can not give to hear the emitted vapors especially when this rum is served in a heated glass. In the second phase, during tasting warn the typical flavor of the distillate, a bit of alcohol than it is felt even in the nostrils to speak. Finally comes the aftertaste that seems so much wood that has aged. Perfect if accompanied by dark chocolate and cocoa beans.
