Flor de Caña Gran Reserva 7 Years is a premium rum, ready to be loved. It's a fantastic basis for cocktails like those especially recommended by Cia. Licorera de Nicaragua: Flor Soda (ice, a shot of soda and a twist of orange) or the Gran Mojito (the normal Mojito recipe but using this rum). Flor de Caña Gran Reserva 7 Years is the first export rum from Nicaragua, that has been satisfying palates around the globe since 1992 thanks to its exquisite taste and quality, that come from two fundamental factors: slow aging without any human interruption and a tropical climate which helps obtain a major maturity. Enjoy it neat on ice or as a combination like one of the suggested cocktails and taste a part of the Nicaraguan sun. Genius!

Description of Flor de Caña Gran Reserva 7 Years
Flor de Caña Gran Reserva 7 Years
TASTING NOTES:
- Colour: This drink is a dark orange-brown amber colour.
- Aroma: Some of the most prominent scents include coconut, oak spices, and vanilla. Traditionally sugar cane rum scents are also present.
- Taste: This rum is not as sweet as similar brands. This is because no unnecessary sugars are added. That is not to say that there is no sugar involved, as it is distilled from molasses, which is made from sugar cane. Because it is aged in oak containers, it also has oak spices. This adds a kick to the drink.
PRODUCER: Flor De Cana was founded by Alfredo Francisco Pellas Canessa. He moved from Italy to Nicaragua in the late 1800s. He founded the Flor de Cana distillery in 1890. Since the birth of the company, it has stayed in the Canessa family.
COUNTRY: Nicaragua
PRODUCTION DETAILS: This rum, like most, is made from molasses that comes from cane sugar. Once the molasses is collected, it is distilled. This is done through, what Flor De Cana calls, a "three-column still process." Once the beverage is distilled, it is left to age for seven years in used charred oak barrels. The used barrels used to hold whiskey. This adds a small amount of whiskey flavours to the rum. This tastes best when mixed with cola.
ALCOHOL: 40%
