Ron Inglés Harbor 5 is an Antiguan rum made from molasses Dominican Republic and Guyana due to the lack of sugar plantations on the island, which is distilled in an alembic continuous copper, one of the two existing in the Caribbean. Ron maturation takes place in barrels former Bourbon whiskey and former Tennessee.
The development of rum in Antigua dates from circa 1700, with exports to documents showing what today is the United States. Founded in 1632 by English colonists who settled on the island, Antigua's economy through slavery and sugar are held, reaching a ratio of ten slaves per settler. In 1807, United Kingdom abolished slavery by emancipating all immigrants working in the plantations. Without workers leaving plantations, the industry was slowly disappearing and with it, rum Antigua.
