You will like to know that…
One of the most well-known rums in the world, Bacardi, was founded in 1862 in Cuba. The distinctive black bat on its label is a symbol of good luck for the brand, initially chosen because of the large number of fruit bats that lived in the rafters of the brand's first distillery. This "rum of the bat", as it is known in Cuba, is now run by the seventh generation of its founding family, remaining a family institution since it was first opened by Don Facundo Bacardí Massó.
Bacardi Limón is one of the flavoured versions of the famous Bacardi rum line. To make it, a classic white rum is infused with the complete collection of citrus royalty: lemon, lime, and grapefruit. It is for this reason that it was named Bacardi Limón, which is the Spanish word for lemon. After the essences of citrus are added, Bacardi Limón is then aged for a year to allow the flavours to blend together in a perfect citric marriage.
Open a bottle of Bacardi Limón and you will be welcomed by the smell of fresh, crisp citrus. This is then followed by marriage of the flavours of citrus and rum in the glass. Mix yourself a refreshing rum lemonade on a summer afternoon or add Bacardi Limón to any other drink to add that refreshing hint of lemon. Grab a bottle of Bacardi Limón and add a bit of sunshine to your glass.

PRODUCER: The Bacardi Distillery first opened in Cuba in 1862. It was founded by Don Facundo Bacardi Mosso. Over the next several decades, the company opened distilleries in countries all around North and South America. In 1995, Bacardi released its Bacardi Limon in the United States. Since 1992, the company has been called Bacardi Limited. It currently owns a large variety of other alcohol brands, including Grey Goose, Dewar's and Eristoff.
PRODUCTION DETAILS: While Bacardi will not reveal their trade secrets on how their rum is made, we do know how it is traditionally made. Traditionally, cane sugar is used to make the base for this alcohol. Next, spices and flavourings are added. In this case, either lemon juice or lemon peel could have provided the primary flavouring.
The Bacardi Limited story is a peculiar one. Indeed, when Facundo Bacardí Massó left the little town of Sitges, Catalonia, at the beginning of the 19th century, little did he know that he would end up creating one of the largest spirits company in the world.More about the Winery
