Appleton Estate (Rum)
Product not available in United States
Appleton Estate is located in the heart of Jamaica, in the Nassau Valley. This distillery is the oldest in Jamaica to remain in continuous production. It has been growing sugar and crafting delicious rum for more than 265 years. The first written accounts of the estate go back to 1749, but the estate itself may go back even further. What truly matters is the quality of the rum that has been produced at Appleton Estate during all of that time.
Every process at Appleton Estate is done with the preservation of the environment in mind and all of the ingredients to make the rum are cultivated on the estate itself. The sugarcane is grown on the land and the water comes from a limestone spring on the estate. The rum is aged in American oak barrels, which give the rum a vanilla flavour while not imparting much woodiness.
The Appleton Estate Extra 12-Year-Old rum is made up of a blend of rums that are each a minimum of 12 years old. Its rich bronze colour is followed by the delicious mature flavour of a luscious aged rum. The flavour profile includes nuts, orange peel, vanilla, and nutmeg. This buttery, caramel rum is perfect for sipping. It is also ideal for pairing with desserts or dark chocolates.
