Afortunado 2018 (Verdejo)


  • View: bright straw yellow, a thin glyceric tears
  • Nose: Intense aromatic expression, exotic fruits, very fresh, herbal notes (pleasant memories of freshly cut grass), notes as fruit, tropical and a subtle hint of citrus.
  • Mouth: Very good entry, a very nice tour, unctuous and very tasty, fresh sensations throughout the tour, very juicy ripe fruit, sweet tooth but not cloying touches, a good finish, very good memories and that slight bitter aftertaste, so characteristic And pleasant.


VINEYARD: almost ancient vineyards, occupying 3 hectares, divided into small plots with an average altitude of 900 meters located in different municipalities of the province of Segovia.

GRAPES: Verdejo.

PREPARATION: vintage mid-October, destemmed grapes, making a cold maceration to extract a greater aromatic intensity. After gently pressed, the juice fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature for 20 days.

WINE PAIRING: appetizers, rice fish, white meat with sauce, grilled seafood, cooked seafood, pasta with fish sauce, white fish grilled, baked, cheese soft pasta.

- View: Pale yellow with golden and green hues.
- Nose: fresh and intense aroma with notes of tropical fruit, freshly cut grass, mint and white flowers.
- Mouth: enveloping and slightly bitter flavor with spicy notes of exotic fruits and well integrated tannins.

APPELLATION: Rueda (Castilla y Leon, Spain).
VINEYARD: Vineyards Singulares.
GRAPES: Verdejo.

AGEING: Madura in barrels of French and American oak.
PREPARATION: After the grapes are selected carefully and handpicked, they are destemmed and then go through a fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperatures for 20 days.

WINE PAIRING: perfect companion for appetizers, white meats in sauces, seafood and soft cheeses.

Perfume of white flowers: jasmine, lilies .... The toasted flavours liked me.
Highly recommendable this Afortunado.

There is a clear yellow with copper colored notes. Just approaching the glass close to the nose you can notice pear and banana scents.Do not know what had to taste like, but it was tasty.
I liked it with cooked shrimps.
I tried it at a dinner with several friends and I really liked it.
