Elaboration of Viña Pomal Gran Reserva 2011
Viña Pomal Gran Reserva 2011 (Cariñena, Graciano and Tempranillo)
Pomal Gran Reserva Viña is characterized by a traditional winemaking.
The hand-selected grapes in our vineyards and winery reaches stemmed and crushed for a moderately long maceration tank. After the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, the wines are drawn off to be raised in Bordeaux barrels of 225 liters American oak traditionally. After 1 year of barrel aging, the wine is racked back to tank. Is the time when the blend Grand Reserve and Graziano minority variety of Rioja, joins 10% of the mixture of the base Tempranillo is decided. Wine barrel returns to clarified with egg whites that help cleaning and disinfection, and spend 1 year in barrels to complete the two years of aging in oak. After passing through barrels, the wine is one year in oak vats which naturally finishes cleaning and assembling all components. Three years of aging in bottle finish alaboraciones of these unique wines in Rioja.
Our farms are located around the winery in the town of Haro. Our 250 ha do we have the largest property in the area, and our reserva and gran reserva reflection of these soils. The average age exceeds 25 years, seeking in the vineyard maximum balance and jarrero reflection of our terroir.
Tempranillo to add the graciano, which only matures in excellent vintages. Vintages are those which produce our gran reserva, which does not go to the market every year.

Lying in the district of the Haro Wine Station (the location of the most prestigious bodegas in Rioja Alta), Bodegas Bilbainas has 250 hectares of its own vineyards, which is unique in La Rioja.
