  • Nose: Aromas forthright and remarkable intensity. Very persistent and balsamic. High quality tertiary Perfumes, spicy snuff Weekly English, vanilla, underbrush, cinnamon, truffle and balsamic. Some licorice and roasted.
  • Taste: Excellent on the palate, creamy, silky, balanced and full-bodied. Long aftertaste. Intense aromas of high quality retronasal similar to direct.

The Viña Pomal Gran Reserva has a true cherry colour. Good smoked and toasted aromas. It tastes alot like toasts, very nice. Best to take with a good "Serrano ham".

TASTING NOTES OF Viña Pomal Gran Reserva 2009:
- View: Bright. Garnet-cherry color of medium intensity. Reflections of colored tile
- Nose: Elegant and intense. Spices and vanilla leaf snuff: red fruits and licorice notes with aromas of maturity and aging appear.
- Mouth: Soft, round and balanced. A wine that denotes its origin of Haro and imposing longevity.

VINEYARD: Bodegas Bilbaínas
GRAPES: 90% Tempranillo 10% Graciano

AGEING: 24 months in barrels, 12 months in oak vats and 24 months in bottle.
PREPARATION: Vineyard Pomal Gran Reserva is characterized by a traditional vinification: after stemming and crushing takes place moderately long maceration and after the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, the wines are racked and clarified slightly to pass into barrels.

PAIRING: vegetables or vegetable stews. Also suitable for rice with meat or vegetables, moderately strong cheeses, duck and oily fish.
