Viña Arana Gran Reserva 2014 was launched in 2019, the successor to the former Viña Arana Reserva, which completes its prestigious range of long-aged wines.
This Gran Reserva, from 40+-year-old vines in Rodezno and Fuenmayor, is a tasty and elegant wine for the new generation of wine lovers who want to enjoy traditional style wines adapted to new trends.
This second vintage, aged for three years in American oak barrels of its own making, has received awards from Decanter, Suckling and Peñín, which have given it between 95 and 96 points.
Viña Arana Gran Reserva 2014 (Graciano and Tempranillo)
- View: clean and very bright garnet colour.
- Nose: the bouquet offers very intense aromas, with predominant notes of currants, blackberries, red plum and raspberry, creating a complex bouquet with balsamic notes from ageing in barrels.
- Mouth: The palate is very tasty and offers classical texture offered by the winery. It is a wine with a long finish.
APPELLATION: Rioja (La Rioja, Spain).
VINEYARD: La Rioja Alta.
GRAPES: Tempranillo and Graciano.
AGEING: maturation takes place in American oak barrels.
WINEMAKING: alcoholic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks for a period of 19 days.
WINE PAIRING: pairs well with meats, stews, fish and spicy red fruits.

On July 10, 1890, five Basque and Rioja-based vine growers created "Sociedad Vinicola De La Rioja Alta" in what is known as the Haro Station District.
