Viña Amezola Crianza 2016
You will like to know that…
During the 1970s and '80s Iñigo and Javier Amézola began the story of Bodegas Amézola de la Mora of which Maria and Cristina, the daughter and niece of the founders, are now in charge. In 1999, they became the youngest winery women of all Spain and being in charge of one of the only three chateaux of La Rioja is a task that they perform wonderfully.
The wineries have sixty hectares of vineyards located around the winery in the style of the chateaux of France and they produce by themselves, using their own vineyards to make their wines, DOC Rioja. From the poor and calcareous soils of the terroir of the cellars sprout excellent Tempranillo, Graciano, Viura and Marzullo grapes, which give wines of high acidity and intense color.
From the wines of these wineries we invite you to discover the Viña Amezola Crianza 2016, made with 85% Tempranillo grapes, 5% Graciano and 10% Mazuelo. This bright red wine with DO Rioja had a fifteen month aging in mixed oak barrels (60% American and 40% French), something that is evident in its aromas of oak wood, red berries and sweet blackberries.
