Elaboration of Remelluri Reserva 2003
Remelluri Reserva 2003 (Graciano, Tempranillo, Garnacha tinta and Garnacha negra)
Reserve this red is a good representative of the profile of wines Remelluri and should be subjected to a decanting before consumption. It has a significant aging potential: up to 10 years in good conditions.
It was in the barrel between December 2003 and April 2004. Bottling from January 2006.
The 2003 vintage is called vintage of contrasts. A rainy winter and abundant snow was followed by a warm spring and summer abnormal alternating long periods of drought and high temperatures, followed by short periods with high rainfall. This summer weather in certain exceptional cases, caused an unusual advance of the maturation process, with a number of symptoms and changes in grapes that created confusion.
VINEYARD: The location of the vineyard with good vegetative mass and a generous load, both the number of clusters as good curdled thereof, raised greater demands for water, which were fully covered by an excellent water availability in the soil throughout the phenological cycle.
HARVEST: Harvest began between 1 and 24 October. Strange and difficult due to the state of ripening and bad weather. It took wisdom in collecting, selecting the best of the harvest and sacrificing quantity. The average production was 5,700 Kg./Ha.
VARIETY: This year is characterized by the disappearance of graciano in the final blend.
DEVELOPMENT: A technically demanding processing. We had to work hard to get the highest quality. With a positive bottom line since the outcome is a structured and aromatic wine, with very good performance, marked by the vintage and the despotism of a ripe fruit.
TASTING NOTES:
Cherry color and intensity very good layer.
This wine is rich in fine touch of creamy oak, with good expression of ripe red fruit and nuances of skin in harmony (floral sensation) .Fondo to jam and sour cherries in liqueur, sweet aromas of roasted fine herbs and spices. Presents a slight mineral nuance, rosemary aromas of scrubland is completed.
It is a wine with a soft and voluminous input (golosa and heat sensation). Tasty, with a certain rusticity, with good acidity, balance and armonía.Excelente structure, cooling with attractive nuances of licorice, balms and terroir. Heavier than the nose mineral potential.

Remelluri

The origin of the farm Remelluri is lost in the mists of time. A necropolis in the center of the property indicates the existence of a village in the 10th century.
More about the WineryReviews of Remelluri Reserva 2003
Cherry colour, low layer. Nice smell of wood (cedar). I liked the taste of blackberries in this Remelluri Reserva.
I drank before the main meal, with starters and snacks.
Great now, maybe even greater in a few weeks.
Red with violet nuances. Aromas of dark chocolate. I liked the taste of blackberries in this Remelluri Reserva.
