Muga Rosado 2016 (Macabeo, Tempranillo and Garnacha negra)


  • View: Bright Light color, mostly orange-salmon.
  • Nose: Fresh and acidic with hints of herbs and green apple fruit.
  • Mouth: Tasty, fresh, sweet with hints of apricot; notes of red fruit and balsamic notes. Final long and persistent.


VINEYARD: Bodega Muga was founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga and Aurora Cano; It is located in District Station outside Haro, Spain. It is one of the oldest, elegant and traditional wineries; It is characterized by complete control of the entire process wine and wine, from the vineyards to the manufacture of its own barrels. They have their own cooperage and import oak United States and France, allowing them to develop a wide range of wines that stand out for their highest quality.

GRAPES: Viura, Garnacha, Tempranillo.

AGEING: 3 months aging in fine lees.

PREPARATION: Harvesting is done in boxes 20 kilos, then the bunches pass through the sorting table and pass through the strippers. Subsequently, the wort is macerated for a period of 12 hours, then it is fermented for 20 days in small tanks timber at a controlled temperature. The last step is cold stabilized, filtered and bottled.

WINE PAIRING: pasta, seafood rice, Japanese food, tomato dishes, appetizers, cheeses, and charcuterie.

One of the best rosés of Spain. Very good, fresh and not typical pink flavored sweets and jellybeans. A serious pink that will evolve well in the bottle until the end of 2017 or mid-2018.
