The history of Bodegas Muga is inescapably linked to the Muga family. In 1932 he founded Bodegas Muga. Its founders, the marriage of Isaac Muga and Aurora Cano, came from families with a deep connection to the world of wine. Since then, Muga wines have gradually acquired prestige and fame, going in just over 30 years to develop a few thousand kilos of grapes, over a million and a half in the last harvest. Today, new generations continue to join the business Muga, Bodegas Muga in becoming a symbol of family tradition. Once the grapes in the winery, we proceed to stripping. Expert hands scrape separate the fruit for subsequent fermentation in oak vats 18,000 liters. The wine is fermented for ten days, with the skins and natural yeasts. Six months aging in American oak casks and twenty-four in 225 l. French and American oak. Finally twelve months in bottle before release.
How to serve
Bodegas Muga is located in the historical Barrio de La Estación (railway station district) in Haro. The facilities (270,000 square foot) are two centuries old, built mainly of stone and oak. In fact, oak is paramount in the winery. There are 200 oak deposits as well as 14,000 barrels, made out of different types of oak ranging from French oak (Allier, Tronçais or Jupilles), American, Hungarian, Russian and even the small consignment of Spanish oak.More about the Winery

Cherry red colour. Toasty aromas. On the palate was quite thick.
Intense ruby tone. Concentrated aroma of red fruit jam. Strong coffee flavour.
