TASTING NOTES OF Muga Selección Especial 1995: DE MUGA SPECIAL SELECTION:
The power and youth of this wine as it its thick layer garnet with purple trim. Clean and bright. The nose has a range of aromas subtly blended from red fruits like cherry and strawberry background with exotic scents like coconut or vanilla and hints of toasted soft from the cask. The palate is warm, friendly and unctuous wine with a sweet attack that gives way to a lively, fresh character. Fine tannins that give a feeling of fullness and persistence.
PREPARATION: Selection of grape harvest and entry winery, fermented and macerated 2-3 weeks vats of American oak, aged for 6 months in American oak casks, step by barrels of French and American oak barrels where it remains 30 months, bottling and maturation of 12 months in the bottle cellar.
METHOD OF CLARIFICATION: Clarified with albumen.
VINEYARD: Bodegas Muga.
STAY IN BARRELS: 6 months in American oak casks and 30 months in American oak barrels and French.
GRAPES: 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 10% Mazuelo and Graciano
CONSUME: It is recommended to serve him his temperature oscillating between 16 - 17 °C. Perfect accompaniment to all types of meat.

The Winery
Bodegas Muga

Bodegas Muga is located in the historical Barrio de La Estación (railway station district) in Haro. The facilities (270,000 square foot) are two centuries old, built mainly of stone and oak. In fact, oak is paramount in the winery. There are 200 oak deposits as well as 14,000 barrels, made out of different types of oak ranging from French oak (Allier, Tronçais or Jupilles), American, Hungarian, Russian and even the small consignment of Spanish oak.
