Muga Reserva 2017 (Garnacha, Graciano, Mazuelo and Tempranillo)
- View: The wine has a bright ruby-red colour with medium depth and a garnet rim.
- Nose: Intense and complex on the nose, where you can find primary fruit aromas of raspberry and blackberry, secondary aromas of vanilla and liquorice and a subtle hint of tertiary aromas such as chocolate and ripe fruit.
- Mouth: Very well-balanced on the palate, with good acidity and soft tannins. The finish is long and fruity.
VINEYARD: Bodegas Muga
GRAPES: Garnacha, Tempranillo,
AGEING: Aged for 22 months in casks made from selected oak. The wood is sourced in a proportion of 80% French oak and 20% oak from Central Europe and America.
AGEING POTENTIAL: Perfect for enjoying now, but also thanks to its great balance and structure, a wine you can keep for a number of years.
WINEMAKING: Harvested by hand. Fermentation with indigenous yeast in wooden vats. Before bottling the wine is fined using fresh egg whites, making it unsuitable for vegans. It is then left to refine for a minimum of 9 months before release on the market.
PAIRING: This wine makes an excellent match for meat dishes, such as T-bone steak, and also for charcuterie and all kinds of casseroles.
Bodegas Muga is located in the historical Barrio de La Estación (railway station district) in Haro. The facilities (270,000 square foot) are two centuries old, built mainly of stone and oak. In fact, oak is paramount in the winery. There are 200 oak deposits as well as 14,000 barrels, made out of different types of oak ranging from French oak (Allier, Tronçais or Jupilles), American, Hungarian, Russian and even the small consignment of Spanish oak.More about the Winery
