Development and Aging
The reserves Marques de Riscal are made basically from grapes coming from vines over 15 years from the Tempranillo, situated in the best clay limestone soils of Rioja Alavesa.
This variety holds up well aging in wood and bottle aging thanks to its good acid balance and its fine tannins. The Graciano and Mazuelo varieties, whose percentage in the mixture does not exceed 10%, bring freshness and vividness of color.
The fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 26 ° C with maceration time not exceeding 12 days. Riscal's reserves remain about two years in American oak barrels, forming a wine that fits within the canons of La Rioja, cool, fine, elegant and with great aging potential classicism. Before leaving the market it has a minimum bottle aging period of one year.

Brownish red edges. A good smell of flowers, mostly purple colour. A little bit salty but it was very good.

We had it with cake.
We drank the whole bottle at a time with friends and a good conversation.
It's hard to be found in stores, so buy it online.
This Marques Riscal Reserva is the best I've ever tasted.

Has a strong colour. Aromas of wild berries. Full-bodied.
