Marqués de Murrieta Reserva 2011 (Garnacha, Graciano, Mazuelo and Tempranillo)
TASTING NOTES of Marqués de Murrieta Reserva 2011:
- View: deep ruby red, purple hues.
- Nose: aromas of black cherries and plums, spicy notes snuff box.
- Mouth: a body with well-integrated tannins. Aromas of sour cherry. Spices like cinnamon, liquorice and subtle aromas of smoke.
DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN: Rioja
VINEYARD: Marqués de Murrieta
GRAPES: Tempranillo, Mazuelo, Graciano, Garnacha
AGING: 21 months in American oak barrels, 24 months in bottle.
DEVELOPMENT: The grapes are de-stemmed and gently squeeze. The varieties fermented separately in stainless steel tanks with temperature control. The vatting lasts 8 Pressed vertical presses, with a gentle, slow process that favours the extraction of colour and tannins that reside in the skin.
WINE PAIRING: Grilled red, ham, cheese semi-cured sheep, baked fish, cod, braised venison meat and vegetables.
