TASTING NOTES OF Marqués de Murrieta Reserva 2004:

  • View: In Marqués de Murrieta Reserva 2004 cherry cherry colors are appreciated.
  • Nose: With scent of red fruits, hints of spices.
  • Mouth: The taste has great personality and depth, balanced and fine tannins. Good persistence.

Its fruitiness is marked, the palate is strong and intense.

It is recommended to accompany red meat and fish, both grilled and baked.

VINEYARD: The vineyards of the Marqués de Murrieta Reserva 2004 is achieved are located in our Finca Ygay (300ha Rioja Alta.) Around the winery at an altitude of 420-500 m.

GRAPES: 91% Tempranillo, Garnacha 6%, 3% Mazuelo.

Harvest: started on September 22 and ended on 19 October 2004. The grapes are harvested by hand.

Winemaking: The clusters to create the Marqués de Murrieta Reserva 2004 de-stemmed and gently squeeze. Subsequently the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks with temperature control. The maceration lasts 8-11 days during which continuous and daily work 'traced' and 'bazuqueo' are made to favor the contact of must with the skins and cause a slow, natural extraction of aromas and polyphenols.

After fermentation the solid parts of the grape presses are pressed wood vertical twin screw. It is a soft, slow process that favors the extraction of color and tannins that reside in the skin. In this process a small amount of wine press which is then added to the resulting wine fermentation is obtained.

STAY IN BARRELS: The Marqués de Murrieta Reserva 2004 has rested 23 months in oak barrels United States and semi new 225 L capacity.

A minimum of 12 months in bottle before being presented to the market.

PAIRING: Grilled red, cured ham and semi-cured cheeses sheep meat. Baked fish and bacalao al pil pil.

TEMPERATURE: 16-18º C

DECANTATION: We recommend decanting thirty minutes before consumption.

Spicy aromas lead to intense cherry, red berries, ripe plum, licorice, chopped nuts and balsamic. On the palate the wine is silky and balanced with rounded tannins and fresh acidity. The finish is long and mineral with a hint of sweet spice.

- The Spanish love their lamb, beef and - obviously - jamón! This is the perfect partner.
- 89% Tempranillo, 5% Mazuelo, 4% Graciano and 2% Garnacha.
