La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 904 1981 (Graciano, Mazuelo and Tempranillo)
TASTING NOTES OF La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 904 1981:
- View: Ruby medium brownish, clear layer. coppery highlights and anaranajados without much shine, somewhat dull, slightly grainy with a fine precipitate at the base of the bottle.
- Nose: initial predominance of smoked cigar cellar, snuff Virginia, a background of roasted beans and leather, fine mineral notes, caulking, tar, pitch, and then, undergrowth, dried mushrooms, morels.
- Mouth: rounded a slower than expected wine. Large, vivid, cool, something lighter and thinner than the 904 1982.
VINES: La Rioja Alta
GRAPES: 85% tempranillo, 15% mazuelo and graciano.
PAIRING: game, stews and cooked.
TEMPERATURE: 18-20 °C
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 12.5%
