El Coto Verdejo 2019 (Verdejo)
TASTING NOTES:
- View: clean and bright straw yellow.
- Nose: high intensity, fine, tropical fruit, fennel fruit aromas, floral and aniseed flavors.
- Mouth: elegant, persistent, fresh, tasty, unctuous, good acidity and lively.
APPELLATION: Rioja.
GRAPES: Verdejo 100%.
AGEING: the alcoholic fermentation lees periodic suspension is done to favor complexity, smoothness and longevity of the wine.
PREPARATION: a few minutes of being harvested, the grapes are destemmed, macerated cold and gently press in the winery located in the center of the estate, avoiding contact with oxygen from the air in all prefermentative operations. The alcoholic fermentation takes place at a temperature of 16 ° C to extract all the aromatic potential of the variety.
WINE PAIRING: seafood, rice, pasta dishes and fish

The Winery
El Coto de Rioja

Located in Oyón (Alava), the famous winery occupies a total area of 110,000 m2, out of which nearly 50,000 m2 are dedicated to the cultivation of vines. The vineyard lies in Cenicero (Rioja Alta), near the Rio Najerilla oriented to the northwest, on predominantly clay soil. The rest of the grapes come from selected vintners from the region, Rioja Alavesa. The grapes ferment in tanks of stainless steel under permanently controlled temperatures. Currently, EL COTO DE RIOJA is elaborating 23 million kg. of grapes/year.
