Cune Barrel Fermented Blanco 2018 is a fresh and well-balanced Rioja that benefits from ageing in American oak barrels for 15 to 20 days. This versatile Spanish white wine pairs well with a wide range of food including appetizers, seafood, risottos, stews, desserts, cheeses, vegetarian and spicy dishes.
Description of Cune Barrel Fermented Blanco 2018
Cune Barrel Fermented Blanco 2018 (Viura)
- View: Straw yellow with greenish reflections.
- Nose: Smooth, light mineral and subtle notes of wildflowers, citrus, lemon zest, quiche, apricot, pear, apple, nuts, honey, vanilla, rosemary and thyme.
- Mouth: Mild flavour, fresh, complex and well-balanced with a creamy texture and a slight acidity and depth on the palate. It has notes of red apples and almonds.
APPELLATION: Rioja (La Rioja, Spain).
VINEYARD: Cune (CVNE).
AGEING: Ageing on the lees, with a daily bâtonnage.
PREPARATION: The grapes are carefully selected and harvested at optimum maturity. When they arrive at the vineyard, they are macerated in cold for a period of between 6 to 8 months. Then the grapes are pressed and the juice is transferred to American oak barrels to be fermented for a period of between 15 to 20 days.
WINE PAIRING: Appetizers, seafood, risottos, stews, desserts, cheeses, vegetarian and spicy dishes.
RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 8-10 ° C
