Coto de Imaz Reserva 2015 is one of the most recognized wines of Rioja, one of the great domains of the appellation. It is a complex and balanced wine, thanks in part to its long ageing (18 months in the barrel and a further 18 months in the bottle). On the nose, notes of ripe fruit and fine cocoa predominate, and on the palate it is a powerful red with ripe tannins and good acidity.
Made from high-quality Tempranillo grapes, Coto de Imaz Reserva 2015 is a perfect accompaniment to game, red meat and veal dishes. Intense and silky, this red wine is always a hit.

Coto de Imaz Reserva 2015 (Tempranillo)
- View: intense cherry colour with garnet edge
- Nose: On the nose, powerful aroma, complex, ripe fruit and fine cocoa.
- Mouth: Fleshy on the palate, powerful, velvety, with ripe tannins and good acidity.
APPELLATION: Rioja (La Rioja, Spain).
VINEYARD: El Coto de Rioja.
AGEING: Minimum of 18 months in American oak barrels and maturing in the bottle for at least 18 months.
PREPARATION: The alcoholic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks, with maceration of up to 18 days and frequent pump overs looking for the balance between fruit and extract
WINE PAIRING: Good choice to accompany game, red meat and beef.

How to serve
Located in Oyón (Alava), the famous winery occupies a total area of 110,000 m2, out of which nearly 50,000 m2 are dedicated to the cultivation of vines. The vineyard lies in Cenicero (Rioja Alta), near the Rio Najerilla oriented to the northwest, on predominantly clay soil. The rest of the grapes come from selected vintners from the region, Rioja Alavesa. The grapes ferment in tanks of stainless steel under permanently controlled temperatures. Currently, EL COTO DE RIOJA is elaborating 23 million kg. of grapes/year.More about the Winery
