TASTING NOTES:

- Palate: The palate is pleasant with correct and savory tannins. Final very cool.
VINEYARDS: El Coto de Rioja.
PREPARATION: Fermentation and maturation of Coto de Imaz Reserva 2004 in stainless steel tanks for 21-30 days. Ends with aging for 18 months in American oak barrels of 225 liters and 24 months in bottle before marketing.
STAY IN BARRELS: Stay 18 months in American oak barrels and 24 months in bottle.
GRAPES: Tempranillo (100%).
OPTIMAL CONSUMPTION: Serve at 16 º C. Perfect to serve with sausages.

The Winery
El Coto de Rioja

Located in Oyón (Alava), the famous winery occupies a total area of 110,000 m2, out of which nearly 50,000 m2 are dedicated to the cultivation of vines. The vineyard lies in Cenicero (Rioja Alta), near the Rio Najerilla oriented to the northwest, on predominantly clay soil. The rest of the grapes come from selected vintners from the region, Rioja Alavesa. The grapes ferment in tanks of stainless steel under permanently controlled temperatures. Currently, EL COTO DE RIOJA is elaborating 23 million kg. of grapes/year.

Classic red cherry color of a 2016. I really appreciated the berry smell. Although I prefer less sweet wines, this one it was good.
Good wine to drink between hours.
