You will like to know that…
The Campo Viejo Tempranillo is a composition of Tempranillo grapes from various regions of the Rioja to achieve the purest taste of this varietal. Indeed, this wine combines the light flavours of the Rioja Alta with the Rioja Alavesa's fuller aromas, which are the consequence of the harsher climate. Finally, the deeper flavours of the Rioja Baja, characterised by warmest and driest conditions, complete ideally this wine. The Campo Viejo Tempranillo is a modern wine which honours its legacy.

The Winery
Campo Viejo

Campo Viejo has a long and proud history that takes us back to the Roman Empire. However, it has just been in the half past century that our name has become synonymous with Rioja wines. From our first vintage –brewed in the former Ortigüela winery in 1959 –to the creation of the famous “Rioja Bottle” in ’61 and the unveiling of our state-of-the-art sustainable winery in 2001, we have been at the forefront of Rioja winemaking.
