Campo Viejo has a long and proud history that takes us back to the Roman Empire. However, it has just been in the half past century that our name has become synonymous with Rioja wines. From our first vintage –brewed in the former Ortigüela winery in 1959 –to the creation of the famous “Rioja Bottle” in ’61 and the unveiling of our state-of-the-art sustainable winery in 2001, we have been at the forefront of Rioja winemaking.

Este vino de Campo Viejo lo bebí con verduras asadas. Lo probamos con mis clientes de Rioja.
En vista destaca por un color picota. Tiene un perfume muy claro a rosas. Gusto intenso a frutos rojos.

I had it with my friends.
I especially liked the colour. Aromas of coffee, toffee. Distinctive oxidation notes on the palate.
Rioja is a good area to purchase wine.

Ich hätte ihn zu fettreichem Fisch servieren sollen. Ich hatte ihn zu einem Treffen mit Freunden mitgebracht und sie waren alle begeistert.
Rot mit ziegelrotem Saum. Besonders die Veilchenaromen waren auffällig. Ich fand den 2002 etwas zu rau.

- Ruby red colour with a golden rim. Bright and deep.
- Complex aromas. There is a great balance between the fruit (cherries, black plums, ripe blackberries) and the clean nuances of the wood (clove, pepper, vanilla and coconut).
- The nose is further enriched by the aromas that develop during bottle ageing.
- Smooth and balanced on the palate with a full, elegant feel and a long, lingering finish.

The Campo Viejo Reserva is a familiar wine of Campo Viejo.
Very dark Bordeaux colour. Special vainilla aromas. I drank in several day after I first opened it and, even though the days, it tasted good.
I drank it accompanied with a snack.

You can take it with any meal. Wine and friends always pairs very well .
Cherry colour with brown edges. Very good aromas of vanilla. I liked the acidity of 1998.
