Bodegas Navajas Crianza Stelvin 2015
- View: Ruby red with violet highlights.
- Nose: A fruit-forward aroma of black cherry and raspberry with a whisper of vanilla and coconut.
- Mouth: This medium-bodied red opens with lively fruit notes of raspberry and plum and fine tannins while a pronounced oak flavour beats underneath. The finish is long and warm with vanilla nuances intermingling with the toasted oak.
VINEYARD: The Navajas family, majority owners of Bodegas Navajas, sources their grapes from the finest vineyards in Rioja in northern Spain. This rocky region between the chilly Atlantic Ocean and the warm Mediterranean Sea produces some of the most delicious grapes in the world.
GRAPES: 80-85% Tempranillo, 15-20% Mazuelo
AGEING: Aged in highly toasted American oak barrels. Best enjoyed immediately or through 2020.
PREPARATION: The company was first established in 1918 as Bodegas Arjona but changed its name in 1983 when the Navajas family acquired majority ownership. Although the winery has over a hundred years of history, Bodegas Navajas uses modern, state-of-art vinification technology and techniques. The wines are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks prior to ageing.
