Beronia Reserva 2013 (Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo)

TASTING NOTES of Beronia Reserva 2013:

  • View: intense ruby red.
  • Nose: attractive nose with candied fruits and plum marmalade in perfect harmony with sweet aromas such as chocolate.
  • Mouth: On the palate meaty and fruity. The characteristic notes of the Tempranillo variety, cherry and strawberry accompanied by liquorice, dominate and fill the mouth. The balanced acidity and silky tannins guarantee a long and elegant wine.



GRAPES: Graciano, Mazuelo, Tempranillo,

AGING: it is aged in mixed oak barrels of American staves and French tops for 20 months. The American oak gives a sweet character of vanilla and coconut while the French oak gives spice.

PREPARATION: The wine is produced following a selection of the best grapes from the oldest vineyards. The grapes undergo a slow and controlled fermentation with periodic pumping over to extract colour and aromas.

PAIRING: deal with red meats, game and roasts.

Beronia Winery was born in 1973 close to its present site, surrounded by vineyards of the native varieties of La Rioja Alta: Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano and Viura.

- Intense cherry red colour, with complex and elegant aromas of plums and cinnamon.
- Flavours of ripe mature fruit, almonds and hints of cocoa combine over a sweet spicy base. Finely textured, and with well integrated oak from ageing in barrel, this is a classy wine with great length and character.

Beronia Reserva, the best red wine in the world
Beronia Reserva historic success for 2011 at the International Wine Challenge where he has been awarded as the Best Red Wine of the World for its excellent value for money. Along with this recognition in the most demanding global competition, Beronia Reserva it has also reaped the triple crown of the event to be recognized as the Best Red Wine of Spain, Best Wine of La Rioja and Best Wine Book of La Rioja.

Selection of the best grapes from vineyards older. This wine is aged in barrels mixed French and American oak barrels, where it remains at least 20 months, achieving a slow and harmonious evolution. Then complete its aging for 18 months in bottle before going to market.
Deep cherry color, clean and bright. Delicate aromatic complexity in the olfactory phase and the palate. spicy scents of cloves and cinnamon give way to notes of candied fruit, scrubland, balsamic and a background of black chocolate on the nose.
