Good things come to those who wait. But the wait is worth it. The 2006 vintage of Vega Sicilia Único - which promises to be one of the most memorable of the 2000s- has finally reached the market after twelve years of waiting (two years longer than usual) and after the 2007 (which went on the market in 2015) and 2008 (in 2016) vintages had been sold.
The longer time in casks allowed Vega Sicilia Único 2006 to atain the levels of complexity characteristic of a wine that has spent so much time resting, making it a vintage that can be drunk immediately. In this wine, you will appreciate a beautiful aromatic complexity, texture and elegance. although it will also evolve in the bottle, as is to be expected with a great wine like this.
Wide, deep, of unprecedented elegance: 2006 is a great vintage via which to discover one of the most important wines of Spain and one of the global standards of Ribera del Duero, without which the D.O could not be properly understood.

The Winery
Vega Sicilia

Vega Sicilia winery is probably the most recognized Spanish wine-growing estate on international level. It was founded by Eloy Lecanda in 1864. During its nearly 150 years of history, the owners of the winery changed but the wines always have kept their personality: concentrated, genres and very elegant. Vega Sicilia currently belongs to Alvarez Mezquíriz who bought it in 1982, looking to be at the forefront regarding the latest innovations in the process of growing, winemaking and expanding the vineyard area.
