Semele 2016, a famous red by Bodegas Montebaco, is a new crianza wine made entirely of grapes from the Monte Alto farm. As is the case with the rest of the winery's wines, Semele 2016 addresses the vocation of producing high-quality crianza wines, wines for which time in oak barrels is an essential stage. Likewise, respect for the environment and the surrounding lands is also essential, since his makes it easier for wines to express themselves.
For this reason, for Bodegas Montebaco, work in the terroir is based on the belief that a strain can only be harvested at a specific place and time. Based on this, they produce their entire magnificent range of wines. In the case of Semele 2016, kindness, roundness, freshness, aromatic richness and varietal expressionis also sought and, needless to say, achieved with great success.
The name of this wine, as an aside, honors Greek mythology: Sémele was in fact the mother of Dionisio, god of harvesting and wine, who was born of the relationship between her and Zeus.
