Matarromera Gran Reserva 2013 (Tempranillo)
TASTING NOTES:
- View: This wine has an intense cardinal red with violet tones, clean and bright.
- Nose: Ample and intense, fruit dominate on a balanced influence of oak, which gives vanilla flavors, snuff, licorice, red fruit varied and complex.
- Mouth: powerful wine with good tannins that show balance and harmony, powerful body with elegant, silky and persistent pace.
APPELLATION: Ribera del Duero (Castilla y León)..
VINEYARD: Matarromera.
GRAPES: 100% Tempranillo.
AGEING: Aged for 18 months in American oak barrels from Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Minnesota. They are new barrels, fine-grained and medium roasting capacity of 225 liters.
PREPARATION: Made with 100% Tempranillo grapes from the vineyard Finca Celadillas and San Roman. 24 months happened in the best barrels of French and American oak, and rest back for three long years in the bottle, make it a genuine red mime. This, together with the old Tempranillos with which it has produced, confers great breadth and complexity. Cardinal has a very intense red with violet tones, it's clean and bright, highlights the very ripe black fruit and aromas of wood. With a superb persistence maintains a large structure in the mouth and a powerful body with elegant, silky and persistent pace.
WINE PAIRING: It is perfect to accompany any kind of meat, ideal for barbecues, even spicy dishes with wine. Also blue fish are perfect companions for this red.
RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-18º C
