Emilio Moro is seen as the example of the wine maker in the Duero's (benchmark producer). Malleolus comes from the Latin word which Majuelo 'means small vineyard. The Tempranillo grapes come from poles ranging between 25-75 years. The malleolus is only made in the good years. 2015 was a great year in the Ribera del Duero. There was a cold winter with plenty of rainfall. The period from April to July was slightly warmer than average years and made for a good development. The could not be better rain in July are thus no water stress and the grapes were able to ripen optimally and harvested under perfect conditions. 2014 and 2015 glory years in the Ribera is elegant and full-bodied wines. The malleolus has a very showy, alluring nose of smoked bacon, roasted coffee, cereals, violets, cherries and raspberries with a lot of spices and well integrated oak.

High expression of fine red variety. . .
The birth of Malleolus makes wines of Bodegas Emilio Moro begin to emphasize by having an identity. Cultivated grapes from hawthorns between 25 and 75 years, this wine is a turning point in the history of the winery. Malleolus, translated from Latin as hawthorn, is the way to call vineyards in Pesquera de Duero
Color ripe cherry, garnet rim bottom covered with thin layer. The nose is a very intense black fruit wine where predominates in jam, balsamic notes and aromatic woods. Also they protrude spicy aromas of cloves and coffee, with argillaceous mineral touches. The palate is powerful and concentrated great balance. Retronasal appear again spicy, black fruit and aromatic woods. The palate is velvety and excellent integration between fruit and wood.
Vinified variety Tinto Fino 100%, the wine has been 18 days macerating with the skins. After malolactic in French oak fermentation, it is aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels Allier until the time of bottling.

Emilio Moro Malleolus Magnum 2013
Emilio Moro is seen as the example of the wine maker in the Duero's (benchmark producer). All wines and high ratings. The 2013 Malleoleus is the successor to the 2011 for not making this wine in 2012. The year 2013 was characterized by heavy rain in the spring with cold temperatures. Summer was fine and vineyards could take full advantage of the Spring rain was no lack of water. The summer and autumn were the Ribera concepts relatively cool which makes for a very gradual ripening of the grapes and this gives a definition very fine delicate wines. Just under alchol and good acidity. The malleolus comes from old vines. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and then get 18 months of upbringing in French oak barriques. It has a very flashy, seductive nose of smoked bacon, roasted coffee, cereals, violets, cherries and raspberries with a lot of spices and well integrated oak. The palate is medium to full bodied with fine delicate tannins and great acidity.
