Ribera del Duero
Discover More About Our Products
Emilio Moro Bodegas is a Spanish winery located in the Ribera del Duero, about two hours north of Madrid. This rocky plateau has a prominent winemaking region for thousands of years. Emilio Moro Bodegas began as back in 1932 with the goal of producing unique, intense wines that show off the true personality of the Ribera del Duero. That goal is definitely achieved through the Malleolus line.
Malleolus is the Latin word for hawthorn, which is majuelo in Spanish. The vineyards in Pesquera de Duero are also referred to by this name. These old majuelo vines provide the 100% Tinto Fino grapes - also known as Tempranillo grapes - needed to produce Malleolus. The Malleolus 2015 vintage, in particular, enjoyed excellent weather and ideal grapes. For that reason, this vintage has received excellent marks from experts and regular consumers alike.
After 18 months spent ageing in French oak barrels, the result is an excellent wine with sweet tannins and a great mouthfeel. This classic wine is beautifully complex, offering the perfect accompaniment for red meat, soups, and stews. Malleolus 2015 is a wine that shows the love of the land that Emilio Moro used as a founding block for his company. That love can be felt in every sip of this beautiful ruby-red wine.

Since 1987 Bodegas Emilio Moro decided to market their wines beginning with a small winery in the eight tanks were installed, a sheller, cooling equipment for temperature control, a small bottling labeling, all very familiar but with top controls of quality. In 1997 he began work on the actual winery, which ended in September 2001.More about the Winery
