TASTING NOTES OF Dominio de Atauta la Mala 2007:
- View: intense cherry color.
- Nose: Fruity. With fresh balsamic notes, menthol and black fruit.
- Mouth: Structured, meaty and very tasty. Good acidity and a long finish.
AGEING: Aged for 16 months in barrels (50% new) French oak.
PAIRING: Red and white meat.
TEMPERATURE: Between 16ºC and 18ºC
We are in the Valley Atauta in Soria, almost at the eastern boundary of the Ribera del Duero. Domain Atauta is built in four heights on rock and totally gravity (to avoid unnecessary pumping), on a slope of the valley, surrounded by vineyards, 7 km south of the town of San Esteban de Gormaz, through which the Duero. One of the peculiarities of Atauta is the altitude at which the vineyard is located between 950 and 1000 meters above sea level, giving it a slower ripening of the grapes. It is harvested by hand and all the grapes enters the top floor where falls deposits located at the next level.More about the Winery

TYPE OF WINE: RED WITH FOSTER
Intense cherry red color, well covered with a suspended particle and bright. A glass nose shows fragrant rich in nuances from their woods, spicy, balsamic and vanilla background, to oxygenate the mark of a mature black fruit (blackcurrant, cranberry) that perfectly complements its timber shown golosidad contributing to set. The palate is fresh, acidity adjusted, well-armed and half balances the whole body, powerful aftertaste, with a long, spicy finish.
PAIRING: Ideal with steak, ribeye, sirloin, chicken with mushrooms, red meats, game meats.
