The Corimbo I is the top-of-Bodegas La Horra (in line with their Roda line as has been de Roda and Roda I) The wine aged 14 months in 80% French and 20% red oak. 1/3 new oak barrels. The Corimbo I is deep red in color. Youthful aromas of blueberry, density, to be rolled into the glass to release all its aromas. A discreet spiciness pops up, but with no trace of barrel aging. Juicy in the mouth, a lot of everything, great starter, delicious. The second sip, we notice more structure, depth and folds the Ribera character more open. Nevertheless, the Corimbo I possesses a certain degree of Roda-identity.

La Horra Corimbo I 2013

4 /5

The Corimbo I has a high layer with a red background and trim. The nose is very deep black fruit with some red flashes. There are notes of aromatic herbs and you feel the shade of the pine forest on a cool day. The nose is nice and harmonious with the freshness of the vintage evident in the aromatic profile. It has good volume, perhaps lighter due to the characteristics of the vintage. The tannin is very good, and the mouthfeel is long and cool. The aftertaste is very fresh and pleasant. The fineness of the tannin is surprising and denotes a fresher and longer style than its ancestors due to the influence of a colder and wetter year. It is a pleasure to feel such a wine in such a difficult vintage.
