The Alion is an excellent expression of Ribera del Duero's top class. It has a wonderful bouquet of black plums, violets and tobacco waft from the glass with such distinction that the Alion is the absolute flagship (and sample) for many of his colleagues in the Ribera. The palate is medium-bodied with soft, silky tannins World class and just a very big glass. A wine that blooms in the glass.

4 /5

Made with grapes from vineyards of about 25 to 35 years and aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, presents an almost opaque intense cherry red color with cardinal trim. The nose is full of fruity aromas start. Maturity aromas culminates with ventilation, appearing notes of black fruit, with hints of spice (nutmeg), accompanied by vegetable notes. The palate is round and very balanced, fine, potent yet elegant, with dense attack, good acidity and alcohol in harmony, not very fruity with tannins quality, ripe and sweet with a long finish and aftertaste with hints of parenting .

Alión never disappoints, this is intricately although it will be better in a year.

Alión Magnum 2004 is the confirmation that I do not like Rioja. We tried several friends and among them were several knowledgeable in Rioja, which were admired. It is a wine with great balance and subtle aromas that blend the terroir and variety.
Instead I found myself too acidic, as happens with most Rioja. It is certainly a good wine that I could not see (or does not fit my personal taste, which comes to the same thing).
