As Vega Sicilia itself describes it, Alion 2014 this is "a wine born to make history" and a "wine of pioneering, independent and contemporary character fruit of the evolution of a famous family of great wines ".
The point is that the "little brother" of Vega Sicilia is no longer a wine that grows in the shadow of his legendary brother, but that he himself has fledged o become a contemporary classic, a renowned wine, distinguished and praised thanks to the authenticity of its temperament.
For its part, the 2014 vintage embodies the bounties offered to Ribera del Duero, giving us a silky, voluptuous, jammy wine, without falling into excesses. It will benefit from a longer time in the bottle and will evolve well.
This vintage has produced 284,284 bottles and 6,500 Magnums, wine gems that will allow us to enjoy, more than ever, a wine of "universal spirit with a vocation for the future".

Description of Alión 2014
Alión 2014 (Tempranillo and Tinto Fino)
- View: a lot of color intensity.
- Nose: ripe fruit, compote, aromas of the barrel.
- Mouth: silky, voluptuous, round, fruity, with good acidity.
DENOMINATION OF ORIGIN: Ribera del Duero
VINEYARD: Bodegas Alión
GRAPES: Tinto Fino
AGING: 12 to 14 months in used French oak barrels and 15 months in bottle.
ELABORATION: Wine made from the fine red variety. It is harvested by hand in boxes of 12 kg and is immediately taken to the winery for entry into the selection tables. The fermentations are carried out in wooden tanks with temperature control until obtaining a good polyphenolic extraction that will provide the generous color and the firm structure that are part of the personality of this wine.

The red and violet edges were visible for me. Slight smell of tea in this Ribera del Duero. A surprising fruity wine.
