Zarate el Palomar Albariño 2018 (Albariño)


  • View: bright yellow.
  • Nose: subtle, moderate, hints of ripe fruit and some I touch spicy.
  • Mouth: balanced, with good acidity and structured magnificent.


VINEYARD: grapes from vines planted in one of the oldest estates documented in the Rias Baixas. Very old vines are over 150 years old planted on a granitic soil very shallow. The roots, in search of food, penetrate the rock contributing to the wine a very special mineral character. Bodega Zárate practices a completely friendly farming environment by avoiding the use of any herbicide.

GRAPES: Albariño

AGEING: Once a completed, is drawn off. stay in contact with its fine lees three months until bottling. Aged for 2 months in bottle.

PREPARATION: Vintage done manually and in the same vineyard grape selection is made. Once stripped grape, it is applied a long light pressing. Zárate El Palomar is fermented in French oak foudre 2,200 liters of 8 years. It remains in its lees until after malolactic fermentation, which develops spontaneously.

WINE PAIRING: Rice fish, seafood stew, as an appetizer, whitefish to the oven.

The Winery



In the hands of the family Zárate His beginnings one of the oldest and most traditional cellars of Albariño from Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin.
