Terras Gauda 2019 (Albariño, Caiño Blanco and Loureiro)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: Straw yellow with greenish reflections.
  • Nose: smooth, light mineral and subtle notes of wild flowers, citrus, lemon peel, apricot, pear, apple, nuts, honey, vanilla, rosemary and thyme.
  • Mouth: Mild flavor, fresh, complex and well balanced with a creamy texture and a slight depth on the palate. Pose notes of red apples and almonds.

APPELLATION: Rias Baixas (Galicia, Spain).

VINEYARD: Bodegas Terras Gauda.

GRAPES: Albariño, Loureiro Caiño white.

AGEING: Madura in stainless steel and in bottle for 12 months.

PREPARATION: The grapes are harvested by hand, and then are destemmed, followed by cold maceration of the skins for 10 hours, then make gentle pressing. Passes alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 15 ° C.

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: straw yellow.
  • Nose: aromas of peach, pineapple and floral touches.
  • Boca: live and powerful, fresh acidity and balanced. Creamy mouth feel.

APPELLATION: Rias Baixas.

VINEYARD: The vineyards are planted on soils of granitic origin with shallow and perfect drainage conditions sandy loam character. Both Albariño as Caíño are planted 50 meters above the level of the sea. The vineyards are located in an area with high humidity and heat, and that means grapes with higher concentration and lower acidity.

GRAPES: Albariño, Caíño White, Loureira Blanca.

PREPARATION: harvesting is done manually in 20kg. To prevent premature rupture of the grains before reaching the cellar. As for the design, each variety vinified separately. First, the grapes are macerated cold with their skins to extract delicate aromas. Subsequently, fermentation occurs at low temperature in stainless steel tanks with natural yeast's own vineyards.
