TASTING NOTES OF Benito Santos Albariño 2017:
- View: bright straw yellow.
- Nose: Good aromatic intensity, ripe white fruit, floral notes.
- Mouth: dry, cool, good structure and roundness, marine and mineral end.
APPELLATION: Rias Baixas.
GRAPES: Albariño.
AGEING: 6 months on fine lees in deposits.
PAIRING: white meat dishes, fish, any kind of seafood.
TEMPERATURE: 8-10 °C
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13%
- The founder, Benito Santos, was responsible for helping to establish official recognition for this region of origin (DO) for wines from this part of Rias Baiaxas.
- Albarino is a relatively thick-skinned variety which is at its best, as it is here, is rich, full of colour and gently spicy.
- This pale lemon-coloured wine has aromas of peach, green apple and white flowers.
- It has smooth, silky mouth-feel, refreshing acidity and a long finish.
