The Rías Baixas wine belongs to the appellation that is located in the estuaries of southern Galicia. Rias Baixas is composed of 5 sub-zones: Val do heal, Condado do Tea, O Rosal and Ribeira do Ulla Soutomaior. These subzones occurs mostly Albariño, prestigious grape which is the landmark designation of Galician winemaking. The DO is located between Pontevedra and La Coruna, with an Atlantic climate with mild temperatures and high humidity.

Rías Baixas wine extends over 3,600 hectares, with 204 wineries reaping wines of great prestige in Spain and abroad. Each vintage received prizes and awards in major world's fairs and tastings.

The grape variety used in Rías Baixas is preferably Albariño, indigenous strain. In addition, for whites the loureira (or Marquis), treixadura and caiño blanco are used. The Albariño wines have straw colored, powerful and much aroma. For the reds, (very little produced), strains are: caiño tinto, Espadeiro, loureira and Sousón.
