Treat yourself with the Berton Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc Metal Label 2018, an exotic white wine produced in the south of Australia. This wine is produced by the Berton Vineyards winery, which was founded by Bob & Cherie Berton in 1996 and today covers an area of 75 hectares in the famous Eden Valley in South Australia.

For this Australian white wine the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc is used, which originally comes from the French Loire Valley. To get the best out of the grapes, they are harvested at night.

This Sauvignon Blanc shows aromas of green asparagus, gooseberries and sweet peppers with underlying tropical notes and is very easy to drink. Enjoy this wine best with your friends. You will love it.

The Winery

Berton Vineyards

Bob and Cherie set about planting the first Berton Vineyard cuttings that spring - ten acres of Shiraz and seven acres of Chardonnay - without any permanent water - it wasn't until the following year, in 1998 when the dam filled that the vines got a decent drink!! It was due to these conditions and the seemingly hydrophobic podsolic soils that the vines struggled to become established. After a few years where the vines still looked like rootlings, a Swedish friend jokingly called it the bonsai vineyard - and the name stuck and later became the name of their premium Shiraz. High Eden has a high annual rainfall so the vines are looking good these days... but they still remember the early days every time they crack open a bottle of Bonsai! After the dam was established and water plentiful they went on to plant Cabernet sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc.

Bertons Metal Label Sauvignon Blanc has been specially selected from cool climate South Australian fruit.
Tempting aromas of lychee and fruit salad with underlying tropical notes lead into a palate with typical grassy notes and balanced acidity. Good structure and depth add to the long lingering finish.

A wine of Berton Vineyards that was at the height of tortellini with prosciutto. I went with work colleagues to Berton Vineyards and we taste it there.
It had a dark yellow colour. I noticed scents of lychee and banana. Softer than 2017.
